2007
homemade board game
colored pencil, permanent marker and photo copy on foam core
In the summer of 2007 some of my friends and I took up the challenge of coming up with a concept for a board game then creating it from scratch. We would then have our own version of "game night" once they were completed. The more ridiculous the game was the better.
For my concept I came up with the old idea of Chutes and Ladders but based it on the misadventures of a little boy I knew at the time. The game was constructed to mirror the many ups and downs he experienced in the average day, as well as some of the more extreme examples of Peteydom. At one of the possible titles for this project was The Passion Of The Petey, bordering on melodrama.
For the little tyke's sake his face is blocked out but the gist of the game is still there. It took several days to complete and was well worth it. Overall the game was not only an exercise in being creative with very little, but a testament to how my friends and I constantly create things to make each other laugh.
