Hillside is a recording of several children interacting with their caretaker during the summer of 2007. At this time most of the children were around two years old and the recording is a document of their age. It is also an example of what it is like to look after several children at the same time: non-stop.
This recording was made with an built-in mic on a small Zen Nano Plus mp3 player. For the most part it was an experiment to see if the device would work.
The device was clipped to a pants pocket so it would remain at the children's level while walking among and around the main action. The following excerpt is roughly 2 1/2 minutes.
