b&w reversal film
HFW is a pixilated portrait of my brother, filmed in December 2006. It captures his room, his possessions, and (hopefully) a glimpse into his complex personality. In the end he puts on a suit he wore as a missionary and faces the camera for the final shot.
The piece was shot with a Bolex from the 1950s and with a single lighting source. It was filmed a few frames at a time or at the 8 fps rate, creating its kinetic effect.
