"" is a series of video portraits: two cousins, a friend, a dog, and lastly, a brother. These were all taped in early to mid 2004. None of the action was directed although the subjects were aware of the camera's presence.
The excerpt here is the closing segment, "haven & cobain," which captures a stormy summer day. A brother and sister drive to a secluded area to burn a copy of Kurt Cobain's Journals. This isn't because of any dislike towards Cobain, but more of a recorded proof that at least one copy of his personal thoughts will never be read.
It is highly encouraged to view a better quality version of this video at Vimeo.
The music is "Feeling Of Gaze" by Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions from their 2001 album Bavarian Fruit Bread and available here.
